Haiti Errands Day

Dearest Friends,

Today, Jane and I embarked on a journey throughout the city of Portland. First and foremost, we wanted to donate blood. Personally, I enjoy donating blood because I have a capable body of doing so--and more importantly, there are people in need. After visiting a country with malaria exposure, you aren't eligible to donate blood for another year. You can donate a maximum of six times per year with each donation saving three lives. If I do some math: 6 x 3 = 18 potential lives per year can benefit if you donate six times! Since I won't be able to donate blood for another year, I hope to influence at least 18 lives with my trip to Haiti :)

We were extremely fatigued and "off" after we donated blood, so we feasted on a burger and buffalo wings (after drinking Jamba Juice!)

Then, we went to purchase very important items: bug repellent, mosquito net, sunscreen, and dri-fit clothing (not pictured).

Lastly, I end my night with taking my anti-malarial medication. As I have mentioned before, it may cause side effects such as hallucinations, agitation, and blurry vision. Good thing I have the safety of my home for the night! :)

Hope you enjoyed my adventure recap!

Good night,
Tammy
